Identity Property of Addition
Assume that a is a real number, the Identity Property of Addition states that the sum of a and 0 is equal to a where 0 is known as the Additive Identity. We can rephrase this property by saying that any number that is added to 0 is equal to the number itself.
This addition property can be summarized in equation as a + 0 = a which is equivalent to 0 + a = a.
