Postulates
A postulate is a mathematical statement or proposition which is foundationally regarded, established or accepted as true. That is the reason why it is assumed to be true without proof because it is self-evident.
An example of postulate in algebra:
- Addition Postulate: If y=x, then y+2=x+2.
An example of postulate in geometry:
- If two planes intersect, their intersection is a line.
