The x-intercept of a graph is the point or points where the graph “touches” or crosses the x-axis.

Here is an example where the graph of a line crosses the x-axis at (2,0) that means the x-intercept is 2.

Below is an example where the graph of a parabola “touches” the x-axis at (-3,0) that means the x-intercept is -3.
