The y-intercept of a graph is the point or points where the graph “touches” or crosses the y-axis.
The following is an example where the graph of a line crosses the y-axis at (0,-5) that means the y-intercept is -5.

Below is an example where the graph of a circle crosses the y-axis at (0,2) and (0,-10) that means the y-intercepts are 2 and -10.
